The Adventure beigns....

So a quick re-cap, I am leaving for NOLA to build houses and work for Habitat for Humanity. I got into this so that I could pay back some things that had been done for me while I was at a VERY low point in my personal and professional life. I don't want to leave the country to volunteer, cause I know my name is on a list somewhere and I wouldn't get back in! LOL! Seriously, I feel that we need too much done right here in our own country, and thats where NOLA comes in. I get to go somewhere that I have never been and to do something good for me to feel good about.

Im staying in St. Bernard, LA in a place called Camp Hope, it's a hostel, and for a great price I get 3 meals a day, along with bed, laundry and shower facilities.

I plan on leaving the morning of April 18, and heading south. It's an easy shot down there, and according to mapquest it's about 1050 miles give or take a few I'm sure, right to St. Bernard. I will stop in Nashville to see a close friend I haven't seen in a few years and planning on going to dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe (cause I love them) then back on the road the next morning.

My arrival date is Sunday at the hostel, and then I am scheduled to volunteer Monday through Friday the rest of the week. I am taking my MC because it's a 35 mile drive to the city to work, and it just makes sense to use the bike with the cost of gas. Oh, and like I need a reason to ride the bike...right!!!

I want to spend the weekend exploring New Orleans city, getting pictures and seeing what is old and what is new. I will be posting pictures on a daily basis. Including work pictures! The first pics I have posted are of the toys! I just bought the trailer and got a great deal on it. This is the first time i have ever planned and executed a trip like this on my own! I am so ready!

So keep visiting me here for more news!I hope to hear from people who visit my site.
